50 Martin Place is a heritage building of recognised architectural excellence.
This project consists of 9 office levels, 3 levels of basement parking, a banking chamber, mezzanine and ground floor. Two new levels have been added to the roof with plant hidden on top of level 2. This addition consists of a state of the art auditorium, meeting and board rooms, a commercial kitchen, all housed under a unique new glass dome as pictured above. All the base building services have reached end of life and have been fully replaced while accommodating a tenant on Ground Floor and Basement. The replacement of the services included a new sub-station on roof level which was first in the Sydney CBD as well as 6 star green star and NABERS solutions. New bathrooms have been provided on all levels and all Hazmat materials have been removed.
The original heritage pressed metal ceilings found on level 1 behind the existing fitout ceiling has been restored as well other unique features of this building. The atrium has been widened to provide more light into the building. A six star green star and NABERS ratings for the base building works have been achieved which again, was a first for a heritage building of this nature in Sydney. The revolutionary fitout focused on collaboration and included state of the art AV and IT and provided a fitting head quarters for Macquarie Bank. This project has since received many awards for design, innovative design and construction.
