Overview

MBM is seeking an experienced and driven Marketing & Client Relationship Advisor to enhance our client engagement and business development efforts across Victoria. This role focuses on expanding MBM’s presence among consultants and private sector clients, strengthening relationships, and elevating tender submissions through strategic input.

The successful candidate will work closely with project leaders, the VIC office, and the national marketing team to implement effective engagement strategies, foster long-term client partnerships, and ensure MBM’s position as a leader in the property and construction sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Client and Consultant Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for managing and strengthening client and consultant relationships in Victoria.
  • Develop and execute strategies to nurture existing relationships and establish new ones in line with MBM’s business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the VIC team to assess relationship status and identify growth opportunities.
  • Provide support to VIC project leaders to expand individual and team networks and make strategic introductions across MBM nationally.
  • Coordinate client engagement activities, including roundtables, events, and collaborations with industry associations, in alignment with MBM’s marketing strategy.

Business Development (BD) and Client Relationship Management (CRM)

  • Lead business development efforts in Victoria, organizing and participating in regular BD meetings.
  • Represent MBM at industry events and encourage active participation from the Melbourne team in strategic networking opportunities.
  • Identify and nurture leads across relevant sectors, ensuring alignment with MBM’s marketing and client strategies.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with industry partners, professional organizations, and not-for-profits within the property and construction industries.
  • Monitor and report on industry trends, regulatory updates, competitor activities, and public/private tender opportunities to inform strategic initiatives.

CRM Platform Management

  • Oversee MBM’s CRM system, ensuring the accurate and proactive tracking of activities, leads, and opportunities.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of Victorian contacts, providing CRM training to staff as needed.
  • Leverage CRM data to guide future marketing and client engagement activities.

Tender Support and Strategic Planning

  • Assist VIC project leaders and the bidding coordinator in preparing tender submissions for public and private sector projects.
  • Provide strategic input based on market knowledge, client priorities, and relationship insights to strengthen bid quality.
  • Review and refine tender content to ensure alignment with MBM’s client-first approach and market expectations.
  • Facilitate bid debrief sessions and use feedback to improve future submissions.

Key Collaborations

  • Work with the VIC office management team and the Marketing & BD Coordinator to deliver successful client engagement initiatives, including the annual client party.
  • Collaborate with the national marketing team to ensure Victorian activities align with broader MBM strategies.

  • Strategic Focus: The primary objective of this role is to expand the VIC team’s presence among consultants and private sector clients. A key aspect is enhancing bid quality, with a particular emphasis on meeting client expectations and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Collaboration with Marketing Team: The role functions within the marketing team, contributing to the development and execution of a robust client engagement strategy for Victoria.
  • Event Support: While the individual will not be directly responsible for event delivery, they are expected to collaborate closely with the Marketing & BD Coordinator and the VIC Office Manager on client engagement initiatives, including the coordination of the annual client party.
  • Industry Experience: A strong background in the Victorian property and construction sectors is essential. The ideal candidate should have an established professional network and a demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain relationships within the industry.
  • Writing Expertise: Exceptional writing skills are critical for success in this role. Experience in bid writing within the property or construction sectors will be highly regarded.
  • Marketing Proficiency: Foundational marketing experience is required, with a focus on adaptability and a genuine eagerness to engage with the market and expand skillsets.

  • Bid and Tender Processes: Practical experience in preparing, submitting, and optimising tender strategies based on market insights and feedback is a valuable asset.
  • Marketing Initiatives: Foundational experience in planning and delivering marketing initiatives that drive engagement and align with company objectives.
  • Event Coordination: Demonstrated ability to coordinate and support client engagement events, including networking functions and industry-specific initiatives.
