MBM were engaged to assist UNSW Facilities Management (FM) team develop and implement an FM change strategy model and undertake a contract tendering and procurement process for the provision of building maintenance services for the UNSW Kensington campus.

The procurement model changed from a Head Contract to Trade based contracts and services were procured on a service line trade basis, included the following :

  • Building Automation Systems
  • Electrical Services
  • Fire Systems
  • Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems
  • Hydraulic Systems
  • Lifts
  • Water Treatment Plant

The UNSW Kensington Campus contains over 120 buildings (excluding student accommodation) and in excess of 20 service lines were procured as part of the exercise. MBM developed a commercial and service delivery strategy, which provided the basis for RFP technical contract documentation including the scope of services, performance management framework and tender evaluation plan.

Having assisted in the facilitation of the go-to-market procurement process and transition in/transition out process. MBM also assisted with Change management and transition to the new contract arrangement including all relevant stakeholder communications, training and operational readiness. Following completion of the procurement and change management process MBM also developed the Asset Management Plan setting out the revised service levels and delivery approaches and the methodology for managing performance.
