Due to continued growth, we are seeking Quantity Surveyors of varying experience to join our Sydney Tax and Asset Division specialising in services predominately related to the assessment of Capital Allowances (Tax Depreciation) for our high-profile clients across all sectors on new construction projects, property acquisitions, and ongoing capex projects.

The successful applicant will assist in the delivery of services to MBM clients, within an established team, with training and supervision provided as required.

While relevant skills and experience in the field is desirable, we encourage candidates with a keen interest in joining the team and the right attitude to learn quickly to apply.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Be an Australian Citizen or hold Permanent Residency
  • Hold a Degree in Construction Management or similar
  • Strong numerical literacy, verbal and written communication with attention to detail
  • A desire to learn quickly, take feedback constructively, and put new knowledge to use
  • Have professional attitude and ability to work independently
  • High level of personal organisation and time management
  • Experience in, and or knowledge of Quantity Surveying roles particularly capital allowances (tax depreciation) or similar
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to use Cost X, Buildsoft
  • AIQS/MRICS qualified (beneficial but not essential)
  • Registered Tax Agent (beneficial but not essential)

Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking client engagements
  • Ensuring engagements are undertaken efficiently and in budget
  • Making sure that MBMs work in carried out in accordance with our Quality Assurance requirements
  • Overseeing the quality of the work undertaken by cadet or other staff
  • Representing and promoting MBM in the market
  • Assisting with Business Development activities including preparing fee proposals
