Infrastructure

MBM Infrastructure experts provide independent advice on the delivery and management of complex infrastructure projects

The pillars for this service includes:

MBM provides ‘first principles’ and ‘top down’ (benchmarking) cost estimates at the concept, preliminary and detail design stages of projects. Capital estimates are based on digital measurement, in-house cost databases, industry experience and market knowledge. MBM also provides estimates of lifecycle, operating and maintenance costs.

MBM provides probabilistic/risk-based estimates for the selected options to determine the P50 and P80/P90 estimates. We facilitate risk workshops and engage key stakeholders to establish the project budget to reflect the identified project risks.

MBM provides the initial cost estimates, updated estimates and cost information to provide a cost planning service throughout the project, so that any cost variances can be quickly identified and corrected to ensure the budget is maintained.

MBM provides advice on procurement, contracts, payment types, relationships, allocation of risks and manages the contract throughout construction.

MBM uses established processes to review progress claims and establish the value of works completed to recommend payment. We review and negotiate any variations and provide the cost to complete estimates for the project.

MBM provides an independent review of quantities, costs, risks and project controls processes. We undertake project peer reviews of costs at key stages and contribute to the progress of the project through Gateway Reviews.
