The MBM team has a genuine passion for giving back to the communities in which we live and work, and the initiatives we support are firmly anchored in our corporate culture.
MBM commits to meaningfully impact communities across Australia through social and sustainable procurement, commercial sponsorships, pro-bono services, fundraising, and charitable donations.
Our Community Impact
We fund and support the delivery of homes for homeless youth.
For the past five years, MBM has partnered with the Property Industry Foundation (PIF) as a National Sponsor and active advocate. To support PIF’s mission and vision to create a better future for homeless youth, the MBM team makes a real difference through fundraisers, volunteer initiatives, pro-bono services on residential developments, and donations to PIF projects. Since 2022, MBM’s team has furnished four transitional houses to create safe homes for young people while they pursue education, as well as supported our people to volunteer their time on the PIF Board of Advisors, multiple committees, and at PIF events.
We aim to eliminate domestic, family, and gendered violence.
MBM is a proud long-term partner of the Women and Girl’s Emergency Centre’s (WAGEC) annual Walk for WAGEC. The MBM team participates every year, with CEO David Pearson leading the charge. WAGEC supports over 200 women and children each night who face homelessness, domestic violence, and systemic disadvantage. To date, we have provided WAGEC with over $75,000 of funding and pro-bono support.
In 2025, MBM also began supporting the Women’s Property Initiative, which gives a safe home to over 450 women and children every night.
Commitment to Social Procurement
MBM works with sustainable suppliers to provide opportunities for at-risk individuals, disadvantaged youth, and marginalised groups.
In Victoria, MBM procures goods and services from Fruit2Work, a social enterprise that offers meaningful employment and skill development for individuals leaving the justice system. We also support Streat Catering’s mission to train and employ marginalized youth by providing them with skills and opportunities to build stable careers.
In New South Wales, MBM works with Two Good, who empower women with lived experience of homelessness, domestic violence, and trauma by providing employment and training opportunities. MBM also engages House of Welcome who offers transitional housing and job opportunities to asylum seekers and refugees.
Our national team champion Indigenous-owned businesses.
MBM actively partners with Koori Kulcha, the Kari Foundation, FigJam & Co, Kallico Catering, and Sydney Aboriginal Catering to build strong, meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Through the collaborations, MBM supports Indigenous enterprises, fosters cultural understanding, and contributes to sustainable opportunities.
With a proud 50/50 gender ratio, we celebrate and uplift women in construction.
MBM commits to develop, recognise, and spotlight women in the firm through our membership and committed engagement with the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). The Australian construction industry continues to see a critical lack of gender equity with only 10% of the workforce being made up of women. MBM aims to make difference to gender inequity by supporting NAWIC’s mission and vision, and providing real opportunities for women’s career advancement. The firm is the annual sponsor of the NSW IWD event, and supports staff nationally to volunteer their time via committees, events, speaking engagements, and awards judging.
Modern Slavery
MBM recognises that Modern Slavery remains a widespread and deeply concerning issue that affects millions of people globally.
As a socially responsible organisation, MBM upholds the highest standards in every aspect of its business and expects the same level of diligence and responsibility from all suppliers, service providers, and business partners.
