Services Provided

MBM provided comprehensive asset management support throughout the project, beginning with a detailed documentation review to establish baseline information. The team coordinated site inspection schedules and timings to ensure efficient access and coverage. MBM then prepared tailored Asset Capture Documents to guide the data collection process, followed by on-site asset data gathering and condition audits. All captured information was systematically collated and analysed, culminating in a consolidated asset report.

Project Background and Scope

MBM was engaged by Seqwater to provide an Asset Data Collection and Condition Assessment for their portfolio of non-production assets. The engagement included 34 sites and 63 associated areas across three regions.

MBM completed a condition based visual inspection of the assets both internally and externally including all building services and building fabric/structure elements relevant to the scope of our instruction. Following that MBM prepared an overall report which described the various scope disciplines, presented findings and recommendations and indicated where significant remedial work was required.

Project Challenges

Given the scale and geographic spread of Seqwater’s non-production asset portfolio, spanning 34 sites and 63 associated areas across three regions, MBM faced a few challenges. These included coordinating access and inspection logistics, and managing variations in asset types, age, and condition. Interpreting visual inspection results across multiple disciplines required careful calibration to avoid under- or over-reporting asset deterioration.

MBM Solutions

To effectively mitigate the advisory challenges posed by Seqwater’s diverse asset portfolio, MBM implemented a structured and scalable approach. This included developing a regionally phased inspection schedule to optimise logistics and minimise disruption. MBM’s experienced multidisciplinary team had clear protocols for assessing varied asset types, enabling reliable condition benchmarking. Regular client touchpoints and progress reporting helped align recommendations with Seqwater’s operational priorities and budgetary frameworks. By leveraging digital tools for data collation and analysis, MBM ensured the final report was both technically robust and strategically actionable.
