Cushman and Wakefield, a global commercial real estate leader, partnered with MBM to support the delivery of the new macadamia processing facility in Bundaberg. Owned by Freedom Fresh Australia, a key producer of premium pre-cut and flavoured macadamia products, the facility will support the brand’s global Golden Crunch and Happy Nut ranges and its commitment to environmental sustainability.
The scope of the brand-new three-stage build will include earthworks, carparking and access roads, industrial sheds, amenities, office and administration buildings, and an all-in design for a multi-stage delivery to cater towards burgeoning production.
MBM’s Brisbane-based cost experts provided a master plan cost estimate for the factory’s construction, which covers 24 hectares, and will meet the company’s division’s evolving needs as the business expands its Queensland operations. The MBM team’s work enabled Freedom Fresh Australia to verify its forecast for the project build and mitigated project cost inaccuracies.
Director Reiss Draper, Associate Andre Garcia, and Executive Quantity Surveyor Chathu Dahanayake are thrilled to have supported the feasibility of the project alongside the expansion of regional agriculture.
“We are delighted to have partnered with Cushman and Wakefield and Freedom Fresh Australia to support the macadamia Factory. The project was a highly rewarding regional agriculture initiative that promotes sustainability, boosts local economies, and supports growers across Freedom Fresh Australia’s manufacturing ecosystem. The MBM team was thrilled to contribute and enhance the growth of their product ranges.”
The new Freedom Fresh Australia Factory build is due for completion in 2027.
