Alan embarked to Australia from Scotland following the completion of his Bachelor of Building Surveying (First Class Honours) from Heriot-Watt University. He went on to achieve his Chartered Surveyor status in less than three years post-graduation. Since making Sydney his new home, Alan has dedicated 11 years to developing MBM’s building consultancy division and leads one of the most impactful teams in the industry. As the national head of MBM’s Building Consultancy division, Alan commendably guides a team of high-performing experts.

He leverages a wealth of experience in the UK and Australian markets to continuously expand his broad acumen of both traditional and emerging services. Alan acts for clients including landlords, property funds, tenants, developers, and private investor throughout the residential, commercial, retail, industrial, leisure, and aged care sectors. Alan demonstrates robust industry engagement through his membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and his role as a RICS APC Counsellor. Further, he contributes to the mitigation of building defects as a Registered Building Inspector on the RICS Panel under the Strata Building Bond and Inspection Scheme (SBBIS).
