Project Background and Scope

As of May 2025, Abacus owns and manages a $1,756 million self-storage portfolio across 93 assets providing 455,000m2 of self-storage space. The portfolio is located across key metropolitan markets on Australia’s east coast and throughout New Zealand. Abacus has been involved in the sector for a long time and through their operating relationship with Storage King, the largest Self Storage brand and manager in the Australasian region, has become one of Australia’s largest owners of Self Storage facilities in the region.
The investment strategy is to own an institutional grade portfolio of Self Storage assets in key strategic markets and locations that provide strong potential for income and capital growth. The portfolio is geographically diversified with facilities operating across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, ACT and New Zealand
To date, MBM have assisted Abacus to successfully deliver 31 new assets across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and ACT.
These assets consist of large industrial buildings with self-storage units of various sizes and specifications, retail space as well as parking, services reticulation and fencing.
