With a decade of commitment to advancing women in the property and construction industry, MBM Director and Victorian State Lead Lee Williams was announced as the recipient of the ADCO Industry Ally Award at the 2026 NAWIC Victoria Awards for Excellence.

Since joining MBM in 2016, Lee has played a significant role in shaping the Victorian office into a team where women are both well represented and supported to progress into leadership. When he joined, the five-person office had just one woman and an entirely male-led leadership team. Today, women represent 73% of MBM Victoria’s workforce and 80% of its leadership team, reflecting a decade of purposeful leadership, mentorship and advocacy.

Lee’s approach to developing talent centres on recognising individual strengths, providing tailored guidance and creating meaningful opportunities for professional growth. He dedicates time to supporting his team’s ambitions, from developing technical skills to building industry networks. His mentorship has helped accelerate the careers of several women at MBM.

Lee’s contribution reflects the inclusive culture MBM continues to foster across its business. Through mentorship, professional development opportunities, flexible support and a commitment to merit-based progression, MBM aims to create an environment where people can develop their capabilities and build meaningful careers.

CEO, David Pearson congratulated Lee Williams for his commitment to advocating and supporting the professional interests of women. He remarked “Lee’s award is a well-deserved recognition of the contribution he has made throughout his career. He leads with conviction and has shown that creating a more inclusive industry starts with the decisions we make every day. It is encouraging to see this kind of leadership acknowledged by NAWIC, and we are proud to have Lee representing MBM.”

Lee’s Industry Ally Award recognises his sustained commitment to advancing women’s interests and promoting gender equality in construction. His achievement highlights the important role leaders can play in challenging established industry norms, creating opportunities for women and contributing to a more inclusive property and construction sector.
