A key government agency in New South Wales recently undertook an uplift of an existing fitout across eight commercial floors in a move that supports the future of the department and its people. MBM provided cost management guidance on the commercial fitout and refurbishment of the new offices based in Parramatta Square. The project spanned the development of six floors with diverse facilities that included workstations, social areas, and enclosed spaces. Two additional floors were also enhanced and improved spaces to enable collaboration and new ways of working in the post-COVID environment.

MBM’s team was led by Founding Director David Madden and Executive Quantity Surveyor Loc Tri Ngyuen with the assistance of Assistant Quantity Surveyors Lachlan Lloyd and Harry Mullins. The team’s cost management expertise played a key role in the project’s smooth execution during the predesign and concept design phase through a full scope of quantity surveying services. The new office equips employees with access to improved workplace facilities that cater to the department’s ability to deliver for the people of NSW.

The scope of services across both stages included:

  • Cost Planning for all design stages
  • Tender Review
  • Monthly Progress Claims
  • Variation assessment review

Executive Quantity Surveyor Loc Tri Nguyen was delighted to support the government agency and collaborate with a strong project team. Loc mentioned, “It was a pleasure to work on this project with Renascent and the Government Agency. The MBM team were focused on ensuring a space that exceeded the client’s expectations, and I am particularly proud of the contributions from MBM’s Assistant Quantity Surveyors, Harry and Lachlan. Their dedication and enthusiasm were invaluable, and it was a pleasure to see them grow and excel throughout the project.”

The project was finalised in early 2024 with the government department’s Parramatta staff now based in the new office space.
