The Bronte Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC), managed by the Waverley Council, is undergoing a transformative renovation. In the pipeline since 2020, the Council recently unveiled the club’s new design, developed as a unique space to better meet the needs of beachgoers and the local community. MBM’s delivery of cost management expertise throughout the project will ensure the implementation of facility upgrades while adhering to budget requirements.

The Club’s existing building will be demolished to accommodate the construction of a new purpose-fit building that integrates sustainability at the core to support the longevity of benefits for the wider community. The new build will include family change rooms with accessible amenities, facilities to train over 200 lifesavers, a kiosk, gymnasium, and function room, training and meeting rooms, a patrol first aid area, administration offices, and storage for essential training equipment.

The scope of MBM’s services includes cost plans across development phases, pre-tender estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), tender interviews, progress claim recommendations, variations, cashflows, financial reporting, and meetings. The team’s delivery of high-level cost management services across multiple phases ensures that the updated design addresses accessibility and integrates the surrounding park, and beach.

Hospitality sector lead and Director David Shlom is delighted to drive MBM’s contributions and expertise with the assistance of Executive Quantity Surveyor Kenny Toplis and Quantity Surveyor Stephanie Gao. He noted “The project is a great benefit to the community, and the MBM team is thrilled to deliver projects that showcase contemporary and sustainable design elements. Working to deliver results for the Waverley Council is a joint effort between the wider team, and we’re all excited to see the completed design.

The project is expected to be completed by 2026.
