Engaged by global business advisory firm, Ontoit, MBM’s Building Consultancy team provided comprehensive building consultancy services to a client based in far-north Queensland. The asset preservation strategy sought to extend the life of buildings across the region through a strategic review and ensure the portfolio continues to serve the community going into the future. Encompassing versatile spaces from entertainment hubs to emergency accommodation, the sites provide essential services and social infrastructure to the local population.
Led by National Building Consultancy Director, Alan Stewart, the team delivered building consultancy assessments, advice, and reports to stakeholders following site inspections across the region. The team assessed a variety of infrastructure including the V8 Supercars Pitt Building, School of Art, RSPCA Animal Shelter, Civic Theatre, Museum, Art Gallery, Indoor Sports Stadium, and a Cyclone Refuge Centre.
The full scope of services delivered by the Building Consultancy team included:
- Site inspections and identification of building services assets together with building fabric in accordance with the RICS Guidance Note: Technical Due Diligence 1st edition, January 2020.
- A report reflecting the current condition of assets across sites
- An asset condition and 10-year CAPEX works plan with the ability to break down to site/building/floor/room/service/cost/year
- A repair and maintenance plan with the ability to break down to campus/building/floor/room/service/cost/year
